Pantry cabinet and completed butler pantry

I finally finished the final touches in my butler pantry and revamped a cabinet for my pantry.  Here is the cabinet before I painted it.
Here is the cabinet in the pantry after I finished it. It is hard to get a good picture as the butler pantry is right across from the pantry.  Not much room to get a good picture.
Here is the butler pantry finally finished.  I had to stand inside the pantry as far back as possible to get this photo and I still couldn't get the whole cabinet in the picture.
I took a close up picture of the decor.
Today I decided to replace the rooster on top of the hutch with a different one.  The old one was ceramic and the new is metal.

I just had to include this cute picture of our new puppy Kolby.  He is 6 months old now.  He is quite the handful.  I got this new throw and he thinks that it is his.

New color for house

We had a bad hail storm in August and needed to get a new roof and paint.  We decided to change the color from a light grey green to a darker green.  It is funny how those small paint chips look soooo much different when the whole house is painted.  They even came out and painted a sample which seem to look ok at the time.  Right now I am not so sure about the color.  They haven't finished it yet but the the front is close to being done. I think right now it is just a color shock for me since I have lived with the lighter color (which I never liked when we moved here) for over a year now. I sure that I will get used to it over time.

Here is the before picture of the old color.

Now here is what it is looking like now.

This isn't exactly what it looks like in person.  It's funny how the color changes when you take a picture verses in person.  It is more a medium sage color.  Don't you just love the contractor sign in the front.

The shutters above the garage door and all of the doors are going to be a brownish red color.  Still not sure about this color.  But it was approved by the HOA.  It is better than the one down the street that just got painted a really dark teal.  Maybe it will look better this Spring.

Powder room finally done

I finally got the powder room done.  Right now I have added a few touches for Fall.  Here is what it looked like when we moved in last year.
We removed the pedestal sink and replaced with a vanity.  We added new hardware, new light fixture and paint.  Here is the after picture of the sink area.  I had kept the mirror white originally but this weekend I decided to paint it brown and put a metallic glaze on it.  I think it looks much better in brown.

Here is the area across from the sink.  This is before I changed out the white cabinet for a darker one.
I decided that I did not like all the white that was in the bathroom so I got a darker cabinet for this area.

Here are the close ups of the Fall decor.

Maybe I can get the basement bathroom done this next weekend.  I am slowly getting the rooms done in our house. We have been here a year now and I think I have done well so far.  Usually by the time I finally get everything done it is time to move.  One room that we haven't tackled is the master bathroom.  It looks like it is from the 80's even though this house was built in 2001.

Fall dining room

I am slowing getting all my fall decorating done.  I might never get the powder room done at this point.  I keep finding myself trying to finish other projects around the house such as the basement bathroom.  Here are a few pictures of the dining room table and a sneak peek at the basement bathroom.

Now for the basement bathroom.  Here is the before and after for now.  I still need to finish decorating and I want to add picture frame to the mirror.

This bathroom was all white except for the vanity and floor.  I painted the walls with a faux treatment and painted the vanity white.  It is very small with no windows.  Hopefully I can get the rest of it done within the next few weeks.

October snow

There is nothing like living in Colorado.  One day it is sunny and warm and the next morning you wake up to this.
Here is a picture of my maple tree in the backyard.  It has been through a lot these past few months.  In August we had a really bad hail storm that damaged most of my landscaping that took me three months to do this year.  Yes I was about to cry when I came home that day to see most of my flowers and bushes pulverized.  I don't think that my tree will do very well once this has melted.  Right now all the leaves are torn up and they will probably fall off after this snow.

We live near  what is called "the foothills" in the Denver metro area.  We are always getting the most snowfall than most of the city.  This is a picture of the area behind our house.  There is a small creek in all the bushes that comes off of the pond further west from our house.
The only thing that I don't like about living in Colorado is the snow.  My husband and I don't ski or snowboard and I hate to drive in it.  I do like to look at it when I can stay home.  It always ruins the Fall season here.  We are lucky to get about a month of Fall, two months of Spring, if we are lucky, three months of Summer and the rest is Winter.  Every once in a while you will get a few nice days thrown in between the winter months.  Oh how I long the for the Southern States.

Fall front porch finally done!!

I finally got my front porch done this weekend.  Here are some of the pictures. This is the birdbath in the front of the house that I put flowers in since it leaks.
Those pesky squirrels keep nibbling at my pumpkins.  This is the first year that I have had a problem with them.  Here is the lamp post out front.  I was going to put pumpkins in front of it but I didn't want them to get stolen since it is by the sidewalk.
Here is my wheel barrow this year.  I think that I might have gone a little overboard this year.

Next is a close up of one of the baskets that in on my front porch railing.
The next two pictures are of the swag on the railing by the front steps and  underneath my light on the garage. We have three of them.  I didn't want to take a picture of the garage doors as there is a paint sample for the new colors we are going to paint the house.  We have a bad hail storm here late in August and ruined the roof, the siding and our landscaping.

The last two pictures are one of the pumpkin topiaries that I made by the front door and a shot of the front porch peak.  I have a topiary on each side of my front door.  It is hard to get a good picture as our front door faces the railing.

Hopefully next time I can get my basement bathroom done and get the pictures posted.  Happy Fall everyone.

Fall entry

I got the entry area done and some of the dining room and kitchen done. It sure is hard to try and squeeze everything into one day.  Here are some of the pictures.  First is the entry area.  I have an antique hall tree in the main area and a small table in the back area of the entry by the powder room.
This hall tree was my grandmothers.  Here is a close up of the bench area.
This is the area off of the powder room.  I still need to get it decorated.  I have blue and brown in there and found some fall decor at Pier 1 that will work.
Here is a close up of the table top and underneath area.

I got the buffet done in the dining room and still need to photograph the table and finish decorating the hutch.

Here is a sneak peek at my kitchen.  Just need to tweak it a bit more.
This is the corner of my island.  Once I get the rest done I will post the pictures and of the dining room also.
