Today I had planned on getting the porches decorated for Fall but it has been very windy. So instead I thought I would work on my new Fall wreath that I got at HomeGoods the other day. I walked by it three times before I said to myself "just do it". It was a little pricey but it is quite large, which is what I need for my front door.
Now of course it didn't start out quite like this. I added a few touches of my own. Here is how it looked when I bought it.
I added the orange pumpkins, some small white berries, some crystals and some beading. I found these bead strings at Tuesday Morning. I cut them in half and put the beads on some wire.
Then I attached them to the wreath in various places.
The wreath already had some crystals but I wanted to add more. I found this ornament at Tuesday Morning also. Not the prettiest ornament but all I wanted was the crystals. I then removed the crystals I wanted and add them to the wreath.
What drew me to this wreath were the textured pumpkins. The large ones reminds me of a chenille bedspread.
The smaller ones look like a popcorn ceiling.
Another view
Now for the side by side comparison. Yes it was a great wreath to begin with but I wanted some orange added.

Mercury glass Fall decor
I love to decorate my black cabinet at the top of the stairs for the seasons and for Fall I like to use all of my mercury glass. I also like to use my dark grey candles that are decorated with silver studs and rhinestones.
I just went simple this year for my decor.
Here is how the landing looks when you are coming to the top of the stairs.
I have all my extra white and cream accessories that I use around the house inside the cabinet. I like how you can see through the scroll work.

Top 3 posts of September
I didn't get many post done this month so I am only sharing the top 3. I was so busy trying to get the yard in shape this year I didn't get the opportunity to work on the inside. October will be a month of getting more projects done inside.

Fall has arrived in the kitchen
The past few days here in Colorado have been very Fall like. The trees are beginning to change and it has been very wet. My favorite time of the year. I finally got to bring out my lightweight sweater and boots. I also got some Fall decorating done in the kitchen this past weekend. First up is the kitchen island. I love this Hello Pumpkin sign that I got at Kirklands.
I tried to mimic the colors of the sign for my pumpkins. I only used two pumpkins instead of three like the sign.
I put two of the pumpkins that I painted and decorated last year on top of the refrigerator. The crackled one is my favorite.
The last area is by the sink. I have a corner sink so I love to decorate the space for the seasons. This year I decided to use two cloches. It is very difficult not to include the faucets in the picture.
Here are some close ups of each cloche.
Just a few more areas to get done and then it will be time to start Halloween decor.

Pumpkins and Plaid tablescape
This weekend has been very cold and misty so I have had some time to get some more Fall decorating done. I wanted to work on the front porch but it is just too cold so I started on my kitchen. I took my inspiration from my new pumpkin plates.
Since the plates have a black background I used my black scroll charges and the black lanterns. The yellow plates match the color of the sunflowers and the plaid napkins go perfect with all the colors.
I also used two colors of pumpkins and a sunflower to mimic the design on the plates.
Here is how the whole table looks.

Dreaming of a new home
I know, I know that we move way too much but we are thinking about doing an early retirement. We only have two more years on our lease where are business is at and we will either be selling it or closing down. I told my husband the only way I would move again is if we move out of Colorado or I find my dream home. We are thinking about moving to Tulsa so just for fun I looked at some homes for sale. Of course I found the perfect home two years too early.
I am sharing the pictures of the best things that I love about this house. I love this outdoor space.
This home also has a pool which of course isn't any feature I have to have but it is a nice pool.
I love the green house by the pool.
The house is on one acre and the yard is park like.
The master bath has a nice brick surround in the tub area.
The entry way also has some more of this brick. I would distress the brick with some white and grey.
The only area I am not in love with is the kitchen. I am not fond of the cabinets but they can easily be changed with some paint.
I know this house won't be available when we do decide to move but at least I have some great ideas for my next house.
