I went with a gold, silver and bronze theme for the family room off of the kitchen. This room is more Tuscan so these colors match with my furniture. First up is the fireplace mantel.
Here is how the whole fireplace area looks.
On the left side is a flower arrangement and a beaded Joy pillow.
The right side I put a glittery soldier that I got at HomeGoods this year.
I have some suitcases stacked on the floor next to the fireplace. I added some silver and bronze large ornaments with greenery and some silver and gold feathers.
On the table on the right side of the fireplace I placed my vintage nativity set. This was my mother's and she got this back in the 50's. It has a music box on the right side of the stable that plays Away in a Manger. I would like to spruce up the stable before next year.
I added a 4 1/2 foot tree in this corner of the room. I placed it on top of the trunk to make it look taller.
I added just a few touched to the table by the tree.
More silver and bronze large ornaments were added to my tray on the coffee table.

More Christmas in the foyer
Last weekend I finally finished all my Christmas decorating. Today I am sharing my foyer. I love to decorate my bench for the seasons.
Here is how it looks with the staircase behind it.
I just added a few touches to the table by the door.
I couldn't resist adding a few more items to the ledge. I added the reindeer and the cute penguin.
Be sure to come back and see more of my Christmas decor. I still have a few more rooms to share.

This tablescape has gone to the dogs
I couldn't resist getting these dog gone cute plates from Pier1. Dogs dressed up for Christmas, who knew. I also noticed that this year HomeGoods has lots of dog decor for Christmas. So with a few items I found there I put together this tablescape.
For the centerpiece I used a couple of doggie gift boxes, three tiered dogs and a cute snow globe that looks like a fire hydrant.
Now for the plates. Pier 1 has this adorable set of 4 different appetizer plates with the cuties doggies on them. This one is my favorite.
Here are the other 3 doggies. Each plates setting got a different doggie ornament and the ceramic bones are ornaments that I tied around the napkins.

It's a candy Christmas kitchen continued
I finally finished the kitchen this morning. I continued using the candy theme. I like to decorate my corner sink area but it is hard to get good pictures with the faucet in the way. This year I brought out my bistro man. I haven't used him since we have lived here since he is pretty big but he fits perfectly in the corner. This may become his permanent home.
I did just a little decorating on the kitchen island with my baking Santa.
Looks like a need to get some gingerbread houses to go with him for next year.
I just did a few touches above the refrigerator. I added one of my soup tureens and a small tree.
For the tree is just added some of my small Christmas cookie cutters.
And let's have one last look at the kitchen table that I did last weekend.

Plaid tiddings to you dining room
I think that I have gone mad. Mad for plaid that is. What doesn't scream Christmas but plaid. This year I have used different plaid patterns in my dining room.
I used two different plaid table runners to mix with my plaid plates. I also mixed my Merry Christmas script napkins with another plaid pattern napkin. I was going to add some plaid to the glasses but I thought that would be too much.
The chandelier also got a little bit of plaid tucked into it.
The buffet got more of the plaid treatment with the Santa and the plaid balls.
I even added a small Santa to the wine barrel next to the buffet.
I made up three candlesticks for the centerpiece. I made the Christmas greenery candle rings for each candlestick. They also have curled plaid ribbon tucked in.
One last look at the table.

It's a candy Christmas in the kitchen
This weekend I was able to get almost all of my Christmas decorating done. I still have part of the kitchen and the family room to finish. I like to use a cooking or candy theme for the kitchen. This year it is candy. I took my inspiration from these cute skating plates and of course added candy.
I just happen to have a small pair of ice skates that I found at Goodwill a few years ago. They fit perfectly under the light.
I went a little overboard with decorations but I say "what the heck, it's Christmas". Here is a close up the layers that I used for the plates.
Overall I had fun putting this table together. I will be clearing the table but I am keeping the light decorations as is.
