I can check off one more room on my list of decorating as I managed to get the entry way done. I got the hall tree and table done. I love my hall tree. It was my grandmothers and even though the mirror needs to be replaced I think it adds to its charm. It is streaky with black spots but you can still see yourself.
My entry is one that I had never seen before. When you first walk into my home there is an oval area that lets you go three different ways. To the right is my husband's office. It used to be the formal living/dining room. We had a wall put between the two so he could have an office. Straight ahead will take you by the dining room and into the living room. If you go to the left this is what you see.
The door to the right of the table is the powder room and to the left is the closet ( you can't see it in this picture). I had the hall tree where the table is when we first moved in but we use it every day so I moved it to where it is now.
I decided to add some decor below the table but I had to remove it since Kolby likes to chew on the flowers. That dog will eat just about anything that is unedible.
On to the next room. I am hoping to get the front porch done this weekend. I like to have it done by the first day of Fall. I am ready for the cooler weather to be here. Last week we had a couple of Fall like days last week with a bit of snow but now it is back in the 80's. That's Colorado for you.

Fall has arrived in the living room
It took me awhile but I was able to get the living room decorated. I still have many more rooms to go. I have so much stuff that I can't decide what I want to use in which room. I think I will do the powder room and the entry next since I still have the bathtub in the dining room. It has become useful as it is holding a lot of my fall decor so my dogs won't chew them up. So here is the living room reveal. First is the fireplace mantel.
Here is how it looks from a distance. I couldn't get an good shots without the glare on the clock.
Now for some close ups.
Here is the area with the end tables and coffee table. I decided to make them simple this year. I added my orange pillows for Fall to the chair and couch.
I have this little table in the living room near the kitchen that I thought would be perfect for my owls. Nothing fancy for this table since we use it for keys and what nots.
The last area is the entertainment center. I think my favorite decor in the living room is above the television. We have a row of windows on the opposite wall so there is always the glare on the television when you try to take pictures.
Well that's it for now. I have got the get the inside done soon so I can get the porches done for the first day of Fall. Wish me luck.

Fall is in the kitchen
It's that time of year again when you just can't wait to get the Fall decorations out. I started decorating indoors on Labor Day weekend. I like to wait to do the outdoors closer to the end of September. I thought I would start with the kitchen. Here is the breakfast area.
Now for the kitchen island. Some of these pictures turned out a little dark. I have a hard time getting good pictures in my kitchen since it doesn't get much sunlight coming in.
Here is a close up of the shelves.
I added a few fall touches on the counter tops too.
Here is a close up.
I tried to get a good picture of the topiaries by the sink but it turned out a little dark on one side.
And the close up.
I tucked a few pumpkins on top of the cabinets. I usually don't decorate for the seasons up there.
That's all I have gotten done so far. I will be doing more decorating today. I have so much fall decor that it takes awhile to go through it all and see what I want to use. Does anyone else have that problem? Hopefully I can at least get the living room done today and maybe finish the dining room.

That touch of mink
Faux that is. I just watched Doris Day in "That Touch of Mink". I love Doris Day movies. I always wanted a faux mink throw. Well, I finally got one. I put it in my sitting room that is off of the master bedroom. I can't wait to use it this Fall/Winter season.
I still have a few more projects to do in here. I need to work on the fireplace ( I don't really care for white tile but it will probably stay), do something to the coffee table ( I hate the color of it), decorate the desk and the mantel.
Here it is on the loveseat.
Now let's see what I got done so far. Here is what the cornice board looked like before. Actually this material was on the kitchen cornice boards and it is in the family room off the kitchen. I still need to redo the one in the family room. It also has panels on each side that match.
Now here is the after.
I think that it looks better with the decor I have in here than the floral did. It's hard to see the pattern in this picture. Here is a close up.
I love this old desk that was my parents. It is made of maple and I really hate to paint it. It has a few scratches from all the moving that we have done but I think that all it needs for now is a little TLC
and a decorative touch. I got out the scratch concealer and gussied it up. Now I just need to finish decorating it.
This room is a little cramped but I don't use the desk since I have one built in the kitchen. It is only decorative right now. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the loveseat. It used to be in the basement family room in our old house. We just don't have that much room in our new basement. I was nice and let my husband use the family room down there for his workout room. It really isn't big enough to put furniture in and still get to the bedroom behind it. Our basement has a weird layout.
This room will be one of my projects this winter. We are still working on the master bathroom. The shower/tile area is not as easy as I thought it would be to tile it. This is a far as we have gotten so far. It took us awhile to figure out what pattern to use since the tub is attached to the shower and it has a seat. Yes that is cardboard underneath the tile on the right side. As it turns out the pan is not level with the seat. What else is new. Something always seems to go wrong. I am so ready to have this done as I am getting tired of having to go down to the basement to take a shower.
